What Do We Offer?
For universities, Finland Futures Academy offers:-
a strong national network which furthers success in the challenging cooperation with European and global research and education networks and units,
-
futures studies as a valuable addition to member universities course repertoire. FFA produces study contents and materials, expert services and a study process utilising information technology for the use of member universities,
-
consultation in e.g. promoting multidisciplinarity and the strategic development of member universities by utilising the methods of futures research. Development in the network means development of the universities.
For contact persons with educational tasks in FFA, the academy organises seminars concentrating on content expertise, study environments and operation evaluation in futures research, where participants get new ideas for carrying out educational and research tasks in not only futures research but their own discipline as well. The network thereby gives participants a new boost for succeeding in their own work. The network offers cooperation possibilities, collegiality and international connections.
Every academic year, students are offered a study module of 25 ECTS units. FFA organises also graduate courses and basic study courses planned and implemented by international cooperation. In addition, FFA organises an annual summer course parallel to an international conference.
Students engage in multiform studies by contact, intensive and distance learning. The forms of learning and study materials are adapted to the learning environment with the aid of information technology and interactive study methods. Studies taken in FFA can be included in a degree either under futures studies or integrated with the grades in other subjects.
